new beginningss

There is something incredibly enticing about new beginnings. There is that “all things are possible” message, mixed in with the allure of the unknown that often times finds people ready to make a change.

On the other hand, it is just that, “the unknown”, that prevents others from stepping up, and really stepping out, so they can take on just the thing that could be calling their name.

Whether it be a new business, changing a habit, or recognizing  that the old saying about doing things the same way and expecting a different result rings true. The pattern of doing something over and over without any new outcome really does seem to invite an uncanny semblance of insanity into our lives.

Sometimes it just hits- and you know, “It is time.”

The next step however, when you have to “do” something, that one really is  “the game changer”.

Many fizzle at this point. Procrastination, rationalizations and fear based predications somehow always seem to creep in.

Disclaimer:  they zealously, on many occasions have been known to call out to me as well.

Why is it always so easy to tell others what to do, but when the ball is in your court, and you happen to be the one needing change, excuses and rationalizations seem much more convincing?

You are not alone.  If you are feeling like a “change” needs to happen in your life, but are hesitant for one reason or another, please don’t let what is not reality, take over. I have learned from many new beginnings, and, it is just these times, especially these very moments, when we are afraid to step out of our comfort zone, when the best things usually occur.

And so, as I am in the throws of setting up a new counseling practice, I would love to walk alongside anyone who might be ready for their very own “new beginning.”  Times of honesty and vulnerability, when shared with someone trustworthy, almost always provides a guarantee that celebrations down the road to be that much sweeter.

Today I am reminded that not once have I ever regretted the decision to dig deep down, regardless of how uncomfortable it happened to be, for answers. As it usually goes, it is here, in the scary unknown places, I am led to look up,  once again discovering through strength outside of myself, I am able to begin anew.
